Finsterwalder invests in one of the largest logistics centers in Central Germany

Saxony-Anhalt The Finsterwalder Transport und Logistik GmbH Company is to expand its location in the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt by building a logistics center in Halle/Saale, which will be one of the largest in the region.

"Finsterwalder already ranks as one of the biggest logistics companies in Saxony-Anhalt," said Hartmut Möllring, State Minister for Science and Economic Affairs, on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2014. "The construction of the new logistics center continues the company's success story. This multi-million-euro investment is a positive signal for the entire domestic logistics sector." The logistics center, with a surface area of more than 100,000 square feet and a high-tech shelving system for over 30,000 pallets, will be completed in the fall of 2014.

With its 370 miles of navigable inland waterways, 18 ports and inland terminals, almost 7,000 miles of roads, connections to the key pan-European transport routes and one of the densest rail networks, Saxony-Anhalt is one of the most powerful logistics regions in Europe.

Investors in Saxony-Anhalt do not only benefit from its state-of-the-art infrastructure but also from its central location in Europe, a highly skilled and motivated workforce, excellent investment incentives and very competitive cost structure. Saxony-Anhalt offers an outstanding research landscape and a culture of innovation.
