Ernst & Young: Saxony-Anhalt is leading in FDI in Eastern Germany

Saxony-Anhalt According to E&Y's latest study on foreign direct investment in 2013 in Germany, Saxony-Anhalt is the number one region in attracting FDI among the Eastern German federal states.

"The study confirms the growing interest from foreign investors in Saxony-Anhalt, which we also witness in our daily work. This success is a substantial confirmation of the dynamic development of Saxony-Anhalt as an industrial location," said Dr. Carlhans Uhle, managing director of IMG, the Investment and Marketing Corporation of Saxony-Anhalt, about these results.

In total, 1,531 new jobs were created by international investors, the second highest number in the ranking of all German states. With this activity, Saxony-Anhalt even left behind popular players like Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

For Hartmut Möllring, Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Science and Economic Affairs, the study is proof of the state's attractive location attributes: "One reason for this is the excellent transport infrastructure in the center of Europe: road, rail, water and air. Also the vocational training and our business-oriented universities are very sought after. This leads to highly trained and committed personnel, which is recognized increasingly even abroad."

"Why do I read Site Selection?"
Your magazine has been helpful to me. I look to the regional reports. This is work I don't do all the time. To get in the groove, and see what those who do it all the time are doing, it helps to get your head in the game.
