Cisco bets on Cloud-Solutions from T-Systems' high-tech data center in Saxony-Anhalt

Saxony-Anhalt T-Systems, the corporate-customer arm of Deutsche Telekom, and Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking, have announced their strategic partnership agreement. A new, state-of-the-art data center in the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt will play a major role in this partnership. The data center officially opened in July in Biere, near Saxony-Anhalt's state capital Magdeburg.

T-Systems will market the European customer part of the global Intercloud platform for Cisco. It will operate and manage the Intercloud platform in the Biere data center, which meets the highest security and infrastructure requirements. Cisco's Intercloud is being built for the Internet of Things, with a distributed network and security architecture designed for high-value application workloads, real-time analytics and full compliance with local data sovereignty laws.

Cisco was among the companies represented on a panel during IMG's recent ICT Roadshow in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Under the topic "Big Data & Information Security," Saxony-Anhalt's IMG Investment and Marketing Corporation presented the federal state's many strengths as an international IT location and as an attractive investment site in general. The gathering facilitated a trans-Atlantic exchange of experiences between German and American IT companies.
