The Competitiveness Institute (TCI), the worldwide association for cluster development professionals, is holding its 5th annual world conference in Cairns, Australia in October 2002.

"Connecting Clusters' is the conference theme.
In today's global economy, trade and investment is increasingly between
dynamic regions. Clusters are a vital part of a region's innovation system.
The conference will enable economic development practitioners, researchers and policymakers to explore best practices in the cluster approach to economic development. The conference will also facilitate the sharing of ideas and the building of alliances to strengthen investment, trade and research links between clusters around the globe.
The tropical city of Cairns, in north Queensland, Australia will provide a stunning backdrop for the conference, held Wednesday October 9 to Friday October 11.
