Venturing Forth in Stillwater
Oklahoma State University President Dr. David Schmidly cuts the ribbon at the dedication of Venture I, the newest high-tech multi-tenant office/lab facility in the Oklahoma Technology & Research Park in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce has announced the dedication of Venture I, the first high-tech multi-tenant office/lab facility in the Oklahoma Technology & Research Park in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The 36,000 GSF Venture I is the second building in the park and offers flexible lab or office suites from 1,300 SF.
Currently Oklahoma State University occupies half of Venture I with research labs for radiation dosimetry, electron microprobe, inorganic coatings and corrosion prevention, and molecular diagnostics and biosensor technology.
"Venture I represents the kind of synergistic environment between university research and private companies we're trying to build in Stillwater," said John Fowler, President and CEO of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. "With easy access to university researchers -- just down the hall or over a cup of coffee — scientists and entrepreneurs find
collaboration easier and more productive." Fowler said that already more than 100 jobs at the park and an annual payroll of more than $5 million can be attributed to the type of interaction that occurs at Venture I on sensor technologies alone.

The 160-acre park is designed to provide custom facilities for technology- based or knowledge-driven firms. Giving access to leading scientist, labs and technologies, the park is expected to generate up to 3,000 high tech jobs in the next ten years. The park offers an environment for OSU researchers and companies to work together developing cutting edge technologies, features a cluster, campus-style layout and has fully redundant telecommunications technologies and access to the National Lambda Rail.
The park is a joint initiative of the Oklahoma State University, the Meridian Technology Center and the City of Stillwater.
