This is the fifth year in a row that Site Selection has been recognized with awards from the Southeast's largest association of publishing professionals.
"Everyone on the staff of Site Selection appreciates and is very proud of this recognition," said Editor Mark Arend. "These awards demonstrate our commitment to excellence in both the print and online versions of the magazine, but we will continue to seek ways to make our products better each year."
The Gold Award for best Website recognizes the site that presents the best overall packaging, showcasing excellence in content, writing, reporting and overall design. The distinguished panel of judges, including individuals from FORTUNE, PC World, National Geographic Traveler and the Columbia School of Journalism, said of the Web site, "What is most striking about this site is how well it puts forward a huge editorial promotional content on the home page without it feeling overwhelming. It is extremely easy to find the latest articles and the headline/deck promotions are very well done. While this is aimed at a very specific audience, one wants to click around and just read the articles for enjoyment."
The Bronze Award for business-to-business custom publishing recognized Site Selection's editorial survey on the state of Oklahoma,
written by Editor Mark Arend and published in September 2005. After some years on hiatus, the magazine's historically popular editorial survey product was reintroduced to the marketplace two years ago by the 52-year-old publication, which has since published surveys on investment opportunities for corporate real estate in San Joaquin County, Calif. (Sept. 2004); Louisiana (January 2005); and Cape Coral, Fla. (January 2006).
