he name El Florido has built its reputation for more than 35 years of presence in the southeastern area of Tijuana, Mexico, along the city's growth corridor, where most of the developments are headed. With its proximity to the United States, this is the most desirable area in Tijuana for a company to settle.
In 2010, El Florido has 38 companies from around the world successfully established within its industrial area. It's renown build-to-suit skillfulness, provides services from beginning to end, and has resulted in a portfolio of vanguard facilities, including DJ Ortho, Oceanside Glasstile, Pall Medical, Plastiflex, Precision Dynamics Corporation, RSI, Schlage, Smiths and Trelleborg. Additionally, El Florido furnishes all the services a company needs to get established, from wholesale to retail, from industrial to logistics and all utilities are readily available, including natural gas, a rare commodity in the area. Tenant associations guarantee security, maintenance, landscaping, public lighting, government support and even a sports center, including indoor soccer fields. Organized events like a yearly 5K run put the area on the spotlight as a flourishing community.
El Florido has further enhanced the area by joint-venturing with first tier homebuilders to offer top rate affordable housing to support the work force. The prominence given to the educational needs are continuously addressed with institutions like Universidad Tecnológica de Tijuana, with programs in electronics and environmental technology. Likewise, Univer University, a private college offering degrees like industrial engineering, and Cecyte, a public school with technical level courses. Through the years, El Florido's presence is strongly consolidated. Its Master Plan has placed a strong focus on the sustainable development of the area. The next big step to follow in the progress of the zone is the opening of Los Nogales Master Plan, a mixed use and infill rehabilitation project, anchored by retail space, offices, health care centers, hotels, cinemas and recreation facilities for all age groups. Future phases will also include a residential component. This infrastructure will pave the way to a strong foundation. Los Nogales area will evolve and thrive based on the principles of a balanced environment that satisfies well being and comfort of its inhabitants and those in surrounding areas.
