he City of Marietta has a long history of complementing local business and industry by offering diverse housing types for a qualified work force, primary and secondary education institutions, and public infrastructure improvements.
      Today the City of Marietta, through the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation and the Office of Economic Development, is moving forward in implementation of redevelopment plans to revitalize the City's original work-force housing neighborhoods to recreate quality affordable and workforce housing within a changing marketplace.By investing in its City, Marietta seeks to enhance streetscapes, connectivity and quality of life with mixed-use development, transit-oriented development, and traditional multi-family and single-family housing redevelopment.

Johnny Walker Homes Redevelopment Area
     Approximately 11.1 acres zoned for mixed-use development. Anticipated construction start date Fall 2005.

Manget Redevelopment Project Area
     Approximately 8.18 acres zoned for planned residential multi-family development. Anticipated construction start date Summer 2005.

Clay Homes Redevelopment Area
     Approximately 11.7 acres zoned for mixed-use development. Anticipated construction start date Fall 2005.
Frasier Park is a 48-unit townhome community.

The Village of Frasier Park
     Redevelopment of a 48-unit townhome community in a mature workforce-housing neighborhood. The Village of Frasier Park is a model community for work-force housing redevelopment. Currently under construction.

Future Transit-Oriented Development and Community Activity Centers

     Marietta is the planned home of a Georgia Regional Transportation Authority Bus Rapid Transit Station. The Station will support revitalization of existing residential neighborhoods surrounding the station and is expected to create new residential, retail and commercial markets. Infrastructure improvements for drivers and pedestrians are key to maintaining quality of life in Marietta and support local efforts to make the City a place were people can live, learn, work and play.
