Think Outside the Basin … Think Hesperia
Industries in Hesperia will benefit from the city's Industrial Rail Lead Track project.
L
ocated in San Bernardino County's Inland Empire North, the City of Hesperia's nearly 99,000 residents make it the second largest community in the High Desert region of southern California.
One key advantage to businesses and residents locating in Hesperia is its strategic position at the intersection of two major thoroughfares: I-15 and U. S. Highway 395. Hesperia, ideally situated near the summit of the I-15's Cajon Pass, makes it the most commuter-accessible community in the High Desert and puts it closer than other Inland Empire North cities to markets throughout the Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
Hesperia serves as more than just a "gateway" – it is the desired destination in the High Desert. The city's central location provides a direct connection to other major Interstates and highways serving the greater Los Angeles, San Diego, northern California, and Nevada markets. I-15 also connects to I-40, which serves the southwestern states, including Arizona, and beyond.
The city's new Industrial Rail Lead Track project will construct approximately one mile of railroad lead track with a parallel runaround track in 210 acres of Hesperia's I Avenue Industrial Area. This rail project will support long-term development of the regional economy by providing the infrastructure to develop rail spurs, a team track, and a trans-load facility for businesses that require rail access. The completion of this project within four years will make Hesperia one of the few viable locations in Southern California able to provide new rail accessibility.
Companies recently expanding in Hesperia include 84 Lumber as well as its 84 Components manufacturing operation, and 3M Co.'s Standard Abrasives, expanding for the second time.
