Dear IAMC members and prospective members:
Fifty years ago, McKinley “Mac” Conway founded what would become Site Selection, the premier publication in its field, then and now. Not long thereafter, he and a few pals founded an organization of industrial developers interested in furthering the fields of economic development and corporate real estate through professional development, research and networking activity.
|
Sound familiar? It should, because in May 2002, a few of us
and Mac were instrumental in forming what has become the organization of choice for addressing issues in industrial and manufacturing corporate real estate IAMC. And, once again, Site Selection, our official publication, is at the leading edge of those issues, reporting with singular objectivity on global regions, industries and trends, and on the projects and economics that drive them.
Recently, Mac and I met to discuss an even stronger relationship of the two organizations. We decided that Ron Starner will manage both organizations and that Conway Data will increase its focus on the growth and development of IAMC.
Last week I visited Ron and his team in Atlanta and was extremely impressed with the programs, committees and effort being exerted on our behalf. I’m even more impressed with the support and enthusiasm of you, the members. In Danvers, I asked
for your support and clearly, I’m getting it. The committees and their leaders are producing new and exciting results which over the next few months will be shared with you. Keep up that effort.
One of many things in common between IAMC and Site Selection is our aspiration to be best-in-class in everything we do. Whether it’s a feature article or a featured Forum speaker, only original, focused and meaningful content will make the grade.
As we move toward our Spring 2004 Forum in Tucson and as you read these pages join me in celebrating 50 years of accumulated knowledge and priceless relationships. As you well know, those two things are at the core of corporate real estate and the heart of IAMC.
Warmest regards,
