Topeka Air Industrial Park
An Ideal Location

When considering where to establish a new logistics or distribution facility, nothing is more important than location. Many economic development agencies promote themselves as being centrally located in the United States. However, the proof is in the pudding.
Topeka Air Industrial Park, located in Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas, is truly in the center of the United States. Consider this fact. Topeka is 1,556 miles from Los Angeles and 1,557 miles from Miami. The Park is equidistant from major metropolitan areas on both the east and west coasts.
Major corporations have taken notice of this fact. Target took advantage of the logistical superiority this area presents and constructed an $80,000, 1.3 million-sq.-ft. (120,770-sq.-m.) retail distribution center next door to the Topeka Air Industrial park. Frito-Lay, Payless Shoe Source, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Hill's Pet Nutrition and Hallmark all have major manufacturing or distribution facilities in Topeka. The Sports Car Club of America recently opened its new national headquarters in the Park. These companies also realize the quality of the work force available in the area is as good as anywhere in the country. The population base, within a 30-minute drive of Topeka, is 228,844. Of this amount, the labor force participation rate exceeds the national rate at 70.5 percent.
A central location has little value without a transportation infrastructure to back it up. The Topeka Air Industrial Park has a transportation system that is next to none. It offers ready access to the Federal Interstate network. The Park is in close proximity of Interstate-70, Interstate-470 and the Kansas Turnpike. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad runs adjacent to the Park. Forbes Field, home of the Park, offers excellent air service.
The Topeka Air Industrial Park currently has prime building sites available, a state of the art telecommunications infrastructure, first-rate utility access, 24-hour police and fire protection and on-site management. Tenants will find the Park offers excellent incentives including perpetual property tax abatement. A central location, coupled with these features, makes the Topeka Air Industrial Park an ideal site for any logistics facility.
