MANAGEMENT STRATEGY

axadvantagegroup (tag) professionals have helped implement tax credit and incentive programs for hundreds of companies across a variety of industry sectors. From our experience, we’ve seen the corporate and public sector opinions about the incentive process change as the recession has lingered. To gain more insight about the incentive process, tag launched a study of the incentive process from the perspectives of both the public and corporate sectors.

Tag conducted 76 Web-based interviews targeting senior corporate and economic development professionals in various industries. Specifically, the study assessed the steps in the incentive process from the public and corporate perspective and evaluated how to improve the process in order to bring incentive benefits to the bottom line.

Overall, what we learned is that although it is unanimous throughout the public and corporate sector that incentives should produce win-win results, it is not always the conclusion. Better communication between the public and corporate sectors during the incentive process will allow for a smoother implementation, resulting in cost savings for the corporations and true economic benefits to the communities. Let’s take a look at the survey’s findings.
