A new report from INRIX identifies the places most clogged with traffic across nearly 1,000 cities in 37 countries. We compare the findings with the American Transportation Research Institute’s annual list of top 100 trucking bottlenecks.
Those who pursue postdoc work in the Research Triangle — where Research Triangle Park soon will welcome this multimodal Triangle Mobility Hub from GoTriangle — liked to work and live there later too.

In spring 2018 we talked to the director of the Office of Fellows’ Career Development at the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, about her study tracing where postdocs go on to work later. What she found out a) reflects similar clustering in the private-sector life sciences community, and b) may offer guideposts for talent migration more broadly that biomedical companies would do well to heed. Motivated by protectionist policy talk from the country to its south, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Business Data Lab last week launched the Canada-U.S. Trade Tracker, an interactive tool that illustrates the ties between the two countries’ economies. One animation, for example, reports that auto parts cross North American borders up to eight times before final assembly. A running counter sums up the value of U.S.-Canada trade, which as of 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, stood at more than $89.3 billion since the start of 2025.
