More than three years ago we talked to an expert on data center infrastructure in Mexico about the rise of facility investment in the state of Querétaro. On the final day of April this year, ODATA, an Aligned Data Centers company, announced the launch of the first facility at its DC QR03 campus in the PyME Industrial Park in Querétaro — the company’s largest data center development in Mexico. The company says the campus represents a total investment of over $3 billion and will provide up to 300 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity upon full build-out. Earlier this year, Amazon announced a $5 billion investment in the state.

Every Fourth of July climbers ascend Independence Monument in Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, Colorado, to plant the U.S. flag, continuing a tradition begun by Monument Superintendent John Otto in 1911. This year a nest of peregrine falcons prevented the climb from taking place, though ceremonies and an educational event still took place at the base.
