Oman: Did you know …

  • The Sultanate of Oman lies at the eastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula, boasting a stunning landscape combing the desert, the mountains, plains and sea.
  • In November 2010, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) listed Oman, from among 135 countries worldwide, as the nation most-improved during the preceding 40 years. According to international indices, Oman is one of the most developed and stable countries in the Arab world.
  • Oman is working aggressively to open development projects to foreign investors. The Sultanate has upgraded its laws on investment activity and has introduced “One Stop Shop” clearance facilities along with simplified, transparent procedures.
  • Oman has substantially upgraded its ports and established several Free Trade Zones.
  • The industrial sector is a cornerstone of the Sultanate’s long-term development strategy. Heavy industries based in Oman’s industrial estates enjoy government grants and tax exemptions.
