REINFORCING TAIWAN’S SLICONE SHIELD
Advanced Semiconductor Engineering has broken ground on its semiconductor manufacturing center at the Renwu Industrial Park in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The joint $3.4 billion investment, supported by partners WinWay Technology Co. and Horng Terng Automation Co., is designed to build a high-tech semiconductor testing services cluster in the region. “The global semiconductor industry has entered a critical phase of transformation,” said ASE CEO Dr. Tien Wu. “In response to the evolving global supply chain, ASE is proactively driving industrial upgrades. The commencement of the Renwu plant serves as a vital economic engine and a beacon of technological leadership.” The facility will feature AI smart manufacturing technology such as visual cloud inspection systems and Automated Guided Vehicles. Phase one of the project is expected to become operational by early 2027, with further expansion expected to be complete in late 2027.

PROJECT CAPROCK
As part of Aligned Data Centers’ North American portfolio expansion, the data center developer has announced a new hyperscale campus in northwest Texas. Aligned Data Centers has said it will construct a 313-acre site just outside of Abernathy, delivering a 540-megawatt capacity. The site will span 1.65-million-sq.-ft. across six facilities, the first of which is expected to become operational in early 2027. “Our expansion into Northwest Texas proves we can meet both the increased capacity demands from customers while also meeting community demands for the responsible construction of AI infrastructure,” said Aligned CEO Andrew Schapp. The company will install its DeltaFlow liquid cooling technology and an advanced air-cooled heat rejection system paired with a closed-loop design across the campus, recirculating water in order to protect the Ogallala Aquifer in the region. Once complete, Project Caprock is expected to contribute $5 billion toward the regional economy.
