Shapoorji Expands SP Infocity Portfolio

hapoorji Pallonji, a leading construction and realty force in India , is adding a network of IT parks in the Subcontinent to its international portfolio of signature properties. Some SP Infocity parks have special economic zone (SEZ) status to meet growing demand from global players in the IT/ITeS sector. SP Infocity joins such landmark properties as The World Trade Centre, Mumbai; the Hotel Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai; The Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi ; The Palace of the Sultan of Oman, Muscat ; the Providence Cricket Stadium in Guyana and the Seat of Government & Presidential Villa in Ghana .

SThe first SP Infocity project is in Pune, 160 kilometers from Mumbai, the financial hub of India . Opened in 2003, SP Infocity Pune, on 80 acres, features high-grade office space, modern amenities, a classic campus feel and landscaped surroundings. SP Infocity Pune consists of both SEZ and non-SEZ components. In addition to high-end office space, the park features recreational facilities in the form of I-Space, a fully equipped clubhouse with a restaurant, gym, swimming pool, spa, guest rooms, amphitheatre and other amenities.

SP Infocity developments at Pune, Udyog Vihar (Gurgaon) and Chennai are operational and are home to leading corporate names from the IT/ITeS world. EasiOption BPO Services Pvt. Ltd., for example, inaugurated its 500-seat facility in September 2009. The firm, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.K.-based Kent Reliance Building Society, provides BPO and call center services to primarily British financial institutions.

Another tenant at the Pune SP Infocity development is Mansoft, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar-based Mannai Corp. The unit opened its second Indian Resource Center at the site in August 2008; its first was established in Mumbai in 2006. The facility provides technical support for a variety of functions, including such events as the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October. The center is expected to house about 400 IT professionals. ADP India is another tenant at the SP Infocity campus in Pune. A global provider of back-office IT services, ADP accommodates 1,100 employees in its 110,000 sq. ft. of space. And Saksoft, a global software services company specializing in the banking, financial services and insurance sector, has moved into 20,000 sq. ft. at SP Infocity in Chennai.

In the coming months, similar developments will open at Manesar (Gurgaon), Mohali and Nagpur . SP Infocity parks in other locations, including Kolkata, Mysore and Durgapur , will follow. All locations have space available for lease, according to Shapoorji Pallonji. SP Infocity complexes are integrated developments blending work and leisure amenities. The developments offer every feature or facility that a corporate client seeks in a premium office setup. Large floor plates, high efficiency ratios, power backup, plentiful parking, food courts, gymnasium, swimming pool, residential and retail facilities, and landscaped surroundings are just some of the aspects that make these complexes complete.

Keeping in line with the current environmental concerns, SP Infocity has proactively adopted measures to add to the Green quotient. Chennai and Manesar projects of SP Infocity, which are Green Buildings, are a testimony to this fact. Future SP Infocity developments at other locations also aim to incorporate green features to a large extent.

The Shapoorji Pallonji name is associated with signature real estate developments in India . The Imperial — two 60-story towers offering luxury residences at Mumbai and SP Shukhobrishti — a mass housing project in Kolkata having 20,000 apartments, illustrate the wide range of projects the organization is executing. Currently the real estate portfolio of Shapoorji Pallonji includes residential, commercial, IT/ITeS, retail, hospitality and recreational developments throughout India . The Imperial recently created history by winning seven awards at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2009 in Singapore followed by three more at Hong Kong in 2010. SP Infocity Pune was awarded at the Maharashtra (State Govt.) IT Awards 2008 in the Best Infrastructure category.
