China-based solar module manufacturer Seraphim Energy Group announced last week that it would be investing $829 million in the Huadu district within China’s Guangdong province. Over the next two years the company will construct its 10-gigawatt (GW) photovoltaic module manufacturing facility in two phases. Each phase will add 5GW of capacity as Seraphim plans to begin trial production in late 2025 and full production in 2026. With a total investment of $3.2 billion, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies continues to expand its Large-Scale Cell Culture CMDO Business in Holly Springs, North Carolina, located on the southwestern outskirts of metro Raleigh between Apex and Fuquay-Varina. Last week, the company announced it would build upon the $2 billion expansion investment made in 2021. As a result of the additional $1.9 billion funding, FUJIFILM adds a new cell culture facility which will include eight 20,000-liter mammalian cell culture bioreactors for bulk drug substance. The addition allows for the company to house a number of new projects and, once complete, will make the site one of the largest cell culture biopharmaceutical CDMO facilities in North America. By 2031, the project will create a total of 1,400 new jobs in the region.
