Dear friends,
Last month Conway, publisher of Site Selection magazine, was named the Top International Company of the Year, small business category, an honor bestowed by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and World Trade Center.
It’s a tremendous honor, one we earned for one reason alone: the honorable and incredible people who are the company.
Conway is a collection of some of the greatest and most creative minds, some of the best all-around people, I’ve ever encountered. Conway succeeds because it is blessed to have, blessed to be, such an incredible collection of professionals working together to generate the best products and services in our industry.
Capitalism carries with it a great moral obligation, a great potential to do good in the world, but at the same time a great incentive to ignore that obligation for ever more profit. We believe the greatest companies in the world are those who let profit take a back seat to community and culture. At Conway we run our business for our souls and our wallets equally, and for the locations that benefit from the work we do. That’s our idea of a corporate life well lived.
And what we do matters. What we do helps create jobs around the world. It doesn’t matter what role our team members may fill — whether they’re an admin assistant or a senior FDI manager, whether they’re selling ads or designing them, whether they run a division or support an association, something they do every single day helps put food on the table of a grateful family somewhere on earth. Something they do every day helps restore pride to a manufacturing employee long out of work. Something they do every day helps make the world a better place. For me, getting to work alongside these extraordinary people is the greatest honor of my life, and they humble me every day with their good hearts and grand ideas.
So thank you. Thank you to each and every member of the Conway team, those who work to make us the top international company of every year. And thank you, the corporate and government leaders who trust us to help with the very important work you do. We’re honored, and we’re grateful.
Best Wishes,
Adam Jones-Kelley
