JV Connects in India
Under a joint venture named Digital Connexion, Brookfield, Reliance Industries and Digital Realty have teamed up on a planned 1 gigawatt AI-native data center in southern India. The $11 billion investment will support the data center campus’ buildout on a 400-acre site in the port city of Visakhapatnam, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, by 2030. The region known for ship building has now become the target of major AI infrastructure development, as this news follows Google’s $15 billion data center announcement in the city.

Powering Up In South Korea
Hyundai’s global investment sweep continues as the automotive giant looks to plant its first comprehensive battery R&D center in South Korea. The company has invested $814 million in the new 48-acre Anseong site, which aims to advance Hyundai’s EV performance and market competitiveness. The over 1-million-sq.-ft. facility will uniquely perform continuous process validation for battery cells, in addition to battery development. This approach ensures consistency and reliability in real-world conditions and is not currently practiced at the company’s research centers in Namyang and Uiwang. The new facility is expected to become operational by the end of 2026.
