hen Reed Knight Jr. decided on a $20 million business expansion and relocation from Indian River County, he could have located anywhere in the United States. The news stimulated a rush of communities actively vying for Knight's business and the associated 450 high paying job opportunities.
        As it turns out, Knight chose to relocate to Titusville, Florida, and has not regretted his decision. Knight noted when permits are necessary for work at his new Titusville plant they are received within 24 hours of request. He has been impressed by the number of job applicants, receiving some 750 responses as compared to his typical 10-30 in Indian River County.
        Titusville has embraced Knight LLC and its employees. As a result, life has been very good. Realtors are throwing parties for his new employees, banks are giving them free checking and other benefits.... "The laundry list of things they are doing is so long and the whole community is involved," Knight told a Vero Beach Press reporter.
        The Wall Street Journal lists Titusville as one of the five most affordable waterfront communities in the nation (August 30, 2002 edition).
