Fourteen years ago, a Site Selection Online Insider entitled “More Than Good Signs” examined the move-out and expansion of our downstairs neighbor Nanolumens, a designer and manufacturer of “LED visualization solutions,” from its first-floor location in southwest Gwinnett County, Georgia, to another location in the county. Last week, Partnership Gwinnett announced the 20-year-old company was expanding and relocating to a new 45,000-sq.-ft. facility in unincorporated Duluth, bringing together the company’s engineering, operations, sales, finance and administrative teams under one roof.
“Gwinnett provides the talent, business climate, and infrastructure we need to continue advancing LED visualization technology and serving customers around the world,” said Nanolumens CEO Ney Corsino. Nanolumens’ digital display products serve customers across the corporate, entertainment, transportation, sports, higher education, retail and public sectors.
As it happens, part of the space occupied by Nanolumens in Site Selection’s building is currently occupied by another leader in the advanced digital signage business: Visix last year celebrated 45 years in business and today serves over 4,000 clients, including more than 1,000 colleges and universities. Among other breakthroughs, the company says it was the first to go beyond retail markets to focus digital signage on organizational communications.
