The Global Business Alliance, which calls itself “the premier advocacy resource of international companies in the United States,” followed up the SelectUSA Investment Summit last Thursday by releasing the latest edition of its Inbound Investment Survey, which reflects how senior executives at international companies operating in the United States view the overall U.S. business climate. Among the takeaways:
“Over half of respondents agree that the United States needs more Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with friends and allies to encourage future investment in the U.S.”
“These major employers remain positive regarding employment over the next six months, with 60% expecting it to ‘stay the same’ and 29% thinking it will ‘increase.’ ”
“There is concern about how a ‘new corporate tax rate of 28%’ and ‘politicized cross-border investment reviews’ will impact their businesses.”
