LONG-TERM SYNERGY DRIVES NEW FACILITY INVESTMENT
To fill the critical power distribution systems and solutions needs of Siemens, leading electronic manufacturer Jabil joined the company to announce plans for a new production facility in Prince George County, Virginia. About 30 miles outside of Richmond, the duo has selected the county’s Crosspointe Logistics Center for the new $30 million facility, which Jabil will operate. The 300,000-sq.-ft. plant will allow Siemens to expand its domestic production capacity for medium-voltage switchgear and integrated battery solutions. These systems are vital for applications across the data center, utility, industrial power generation and distribution sectors. “Our data center, utility and industrial customers are under intense pressure to add capacity quickly, with less risk and more predictability,” said Siemens Smart Infrastructure USA President of the Electrification and Automation business unit Brian Dula. “By adding additional avenues to expand dedicated manufacturing of Siemens‑designed switchgear and power delivery solutions here in the U.S., we’re helping customers shorten project timelines and improve delivery confidence, while reinforcing a resilient domestic supply chain.” The investment is supporting renovations to prepare the facility with the equipment and tooling to launch operations by fall 2026.

NEW EXPANSION DRIVES FORWARD IN HENDERSONVILLE
A much-deserved win for Western North Carolina was announced last week, as Governor Josh Stein announced a new expansion project from Michigan-based auto parts manufacturer BorgWarner. The $100 million expansion is heading to Henderson County, where the company plans to add an additional 140,000 sq. ft. to its facility in Hendersonville, which was struck hard by Hurricane Helene in 2024. BorgWarner aims to integrate operations and increase production capacity through the expansion, creating 378 new jobs in the region. To support the investment, the state is awarding BorgWarner with an up to $3.68 million Job Development Investment Grant, which will be distributed over the next 12 years. “BorgWarner is proud to continue to invest in the state of North Carolina to bring new technologies to market and provide jobs to local residents,” said BorgWarner President and CEO Joseph F. Fadool. “We appreciate the grant and continued support from the State of North Carolina to expand our manufacturing footprint here in the United States.” Read Executive Vice President Ron Starner’s award-winning coverage of the recovering Western North Carolina region here.
