IAMC Building Reserves
of Trust and Leadership
Dear
IAMC Members and Prospective Members,
Our capacity for getting things done often runs up against two barriers: time and trust. Both are essential to everyone, but sometimes the inventory of both seems like it's flagging. That's why opportunities like the IAMC Memphis Fall Forum stand out even more for the incredible value they provide. In an arena where time is crucial, not only did we couple substantive discussion and industrial intelligence, but we used that same time to develop trust in each other. And we'll do it again in Charleston, S.C., next spring. The purpose of IAMC is sharing, exchange of ideas and collaboration. That's how we lay the groundwork for our own success as professionals and as an organization. Business opportunities -- whether they be in site selection, cost reduction or transaction facilitation -- frequently emerge from this fertile ground of learning and networking. But it's those relationships, predicated on trust, that are our touchstones in a changing world economy that demands we change along with it. As we go forward, with more demands on our time, opportunities to grow our knowledge and our capacity to trust are critical. And the work we do through IAMC -- at the Forums, in our research and in our communications -- grows ever more valuable. We're all too familiar with the demands of "just-in-time." But the breakneck pace has to give once in a while, in order for us to build up those necessary reserves of positive energy and fruitful relationships. To help fulfill that need, IAMC has arrived ... just in time. Warmest regards, |
